One Love was founded to honor Yeardley Love.

Yeardley Love was tragically killed by her ex-boyfriend on May 3, 2010, just three weeks shy of graduating from The University of Virginia. Her family learned during the trial that there were signs Yeardley was in an abusive relationship. Yeardley’s mother Sharon, and her sister Lexie, founded One Love to honor Yeardley’s positive spirit and to empower young people to see the signs of relationship abuse before it’s too late. Today, One Love is the national leader in preventing relationship violence and abuse. And, as the next generation learns to love better and be with partners who practice healthy love, Yeardley’s legacy lives on, ensuring that the joy she brought to the world lasts forever.
